Dalwang gising na lang, 2014 na! Woohoo!
May new year’s resolution ka na?
LOVE LIFE! Tenen!
Aminin mo, inasam mo rin yan, pabulong o pasigaw man. Kaya, go, push na ‘yan!
May negotiables at non-negotiables.
Beautiful, smart, funny, sweet, sexy, has no dramas, a good cook, outgoing, independent, educated, and has her own car… Hala, pano yan? Own car na lang ang wala ako. LOL.
So, paano? Sablay.
Ang totoong “dream girl” ay meron nito:
1. Heart that loves the Lord. Deuteronomy 6:5, Proverbs 31:30
A heart made new and beautiful by the Lord is more important than a face made beautiful by cosmetics. As simple as that. Instead of spending much on makeup and kikay stuff, invest more on knowing the Lord. Buy a Bible if you don’t have one. And oh, read and obey it, too. Be a part of a Victory group whom you can trust with your issues (ALL of those) and inspire you to be a woman of God.
2. Eyes that see the good in everything. Luke 11:34
They say eyes are windows to the soul. People see who you are inside through your eyes. But I believe how you see the outside world from inside of those windows impacts who you become. As the verse implies, if all you see is darkness, then that’s how you will think and live life. You may call it optimism but I call it hope. That hope comes with the faith that God makes all things work for the good of those He loves; that everything happens for a purpose. It’s the eyes that looks at everyone, including herself, not as perfectly good but imperfect and needs the saving and transformative grace of God. Chinita or malaki man ang mata mo, what your eyes see is much more important that how your eyes look like.
3. Ears that listens intently. Proverbs 1:5, James 1:19
Women talk a lot. I always try to shorten my blog posts but I always end up exceeding the set maximum number of words. See, I’ve just said a lot. What I wanted to say was, let’s train ourselves to speak less and listen more. Don’t listen while, in your mind, you’re already rehearsing your reply. Listen to understand. Listen to learn. You’ll be amazed how less misunderstanding there will be in this world (or at least among the people you interact with)and more new knowledge you’ll gain by the end of the year.
4. Lips that speak life and encouragement. Proverbs 12:18
Nobody wants to be with a nagger and a bad-mouthed person because harsh words can kill. What comes out of the mouth reflects what’s in the heart. (Matt. 12:34). This is really not about your vocabulary but the condition of your heart. Seek to get it right with God and the rest will follow.
5. Hands that work diligently. Proverbs 31:17
Whether we agree or not, God created woman to be man’s helper. Yep, review your Creation story. The best way to prepare for that is to help at your home. Master those household chores. But the beauty of doing household chores is it humbles and trains you to be a servant-leader. Remember, Jesus washed the feet of His disciples.
Instead of working hard to be every man’s dream girl, be God’s princess because that’s what He made you to be. God’s princess knows her worth. She knows that she is not meant to be an object of lust and power-tripping; that she is to be loved, respected, and treasured.
Pray and prepare to be a life partner, not just a dream girl. A dream girl may turn into a worst nightmare when you both wake up to the reality that life’s not a dream at all.
